" I love helping my patients solve their communication problems and finding their best solution.  It can be challenging, but so rewarding to help them rediscover the joy of hearing better.  I particularly enjoy working with the veterans that come through our practice as it is my way of giving back for all they have done for me.  Being an audiologist is most gratifying!"

Alene P. Lightfoot, ACA, BC-HIS
Board Certified Hearing Instrument Specialist, Audioprosthologist

Improving the Quality of Her Patients' Lives

"My grandfather was hearing-impaired, and I saw firsthand how hearing aids allowed him to enjoy precious moments with his family, friends and church. This is what led me to the field of hearing care. I've provided hearing aids to many of my family members, including my father, my uncle, my grandmother and two aunts. I know what it's like to have family members who suffer from hearing loss, so I can definitely relate to my patients and the challenges they wish to overcome."

"My goal is to improve the quality of my patients' lives through better hearing. I am committed to providing them with advanced, reliable and convenient services for treating hearing loss. And a key part of my care is taking the time to listen to my patients' needs, answer their questions and thoroughly explain all of their options. It's the same level of personalized care that I've provided my own family members."

She gives back to the community during the winter holidays through the "Christmas Needy" program, which helps those who are unable to afford hearing aids. Alene has also joined the Business Leaders of Ocala, a service networking club for the Ocala community.

Lightfoot Robert Lightfoot
Repair Technician

"There is nothing more gratifiying that repairing someone's hearing instrument and seeing their face light up because they are able to hear again.  We take our hearing for granted and when a patient's hearing instrument has stopped working, they want it fixed fast.  If it has to go in for repair, it can take up to two weeks.  That is not good enough.  I do my best to repair every instrument as soon as possible so I can get every patient hearing their best again.  If we do have to send a hearing instrument in for repair, a loaner is provided, so no one is without better hearing."

Robert (Gene) enjoys working on his 1965 Chevy, riding his Harley and relaxing at his lake cabin.  He is very active in his local church and doing local and long distance mission work.  He loves his "grand boys" and his cat "Buddy".  Gene is Alene's spouse of 42 yeas and has provided the  love and support that has allowed Beneficial to thrive for over 26 years.

Houser Julie Houser
Receptionist

"I enjoy helping others and seeing the changes in the lives of our patients as a result of better hearing.  It is amazing the transformation that patients go through from their first visit to our office when they come in struggling to hear to their last visit when they can correspond with ease.  It makes me feel good that I have been a part of that."

Julie is the welcoming voice that you will hear when you call Beneficial Hearing Aid Center.  She handles all aspects of customer service.  Outside of her many responsibilities at Beneficial, Julie spends time with her spouse, two children, her grandson and Gracie, her Chihuahua.  She also enjoys reading, vegetable gardening and boating.
